HERE ON MAIN STREET covers the 50-year history of St. Paul’s Episcopal Day School, from its founding in 1963, remarkable growth through the 1980s, rebirth after the devastating 1992 fire, through the present day. In addition to introducing early visionaries, long-time guardians and dedicated students and families that shaped the school, the book includes profiles of 24 former students — what they remember and where they are now.

MENORAH MEDICAL CENTER

The Menorah Legacy Foundation commissioned Trudi Galblum and Molly Shapiro to write the 90-year history of Menorah Medical Center. The book describes the fundraising activities that led to the hospital’s founding in 1931, its evolution into a highly respected medical center, the men and women who sustained and grew it, and the financial difficulties endured, which paved the way for its sale to Health Midwest and later HCA.

WHO IS HAPPY?

Skipper and Leo Feingold were in their 90s when their five children decided it was time to ensure that their remarkable story — from children of immigrants to icons of education and leaders of the community — was preserved in a form that could easily be passed on, enjoyed and appreciated by future generations.
